In a good story you have to have a heroes journey. You have to have drama to get your a adencises attention. You have to have a protagonist and antagonist. The antagonist and protagonist don't have to be people. You also have to have to have an intro and ending to the movie.
this video was mostly about the 12 stages of stories and some of them are the ordeal, the reward, the road back, the resurrection, and meeting the mentor and the beginning is about a golden potato.
The Hero's journey is a concept discovered by Joseph Campbell in 1949 about a reoccurring story structure used even in the most ancient forms of storytelling, and still what is used today to format a great story. The Hero's Journey describes the journey of an ordinary person from his "Every Day World" (the first phase) to a point where something disrupts his everyday life and he is destined to help (The Call to Adventure, the second phase) , where he is given a quest that he is destined to go on. Ultimately at the end of these twelve phases the hero or protagonist overcomes the person or force opposing him (antagonist) to rise above and become the ultimate hero. The Heros' Journey is illustrated quite humorously in this video when the protagonist of the “Potato Story” must go on the quest to retrieve the golden potato from the feared potato thieves. He goes through the twelve stages of the Hero's journey; for example, the third stage "Refusal of the Call" where he believes he is not good enough to go on the quest to find the golden potato and refuses at first to go. In the end, this story structure is so attractive, because we all want to be someone's hero, and if we can't be one ourselves, then we want someone else who is.
In the video "12 stages of the Heroes" by Mark Apsolon. He explains what the 12 stages are. The Heroes Journey is what directors use to make there films, they base it off of the book "The Hero of a thousand faces". One of the stages is The ordinary world, this is your heroes home and the beginning of the adventure. A second one is The Call of Adventure, the disruption of the heroes life. A third one is Meeting the Mentor, a person or something that gives confidence to the hero.
In the "The Golden Potatoe" from, Video Tips and tricks by mark Apsolan. Mark Apsolon explains to us how to make a good movie, and what guidlines that a movie maker lives by. first the Mark tht there are twelve of these steps used to make a movie. Also in the video clip it shows us that movie makers should come up with a one sentence description of their film too. Then, Mark shows us what the twelve steps are to be great at making a movie. He aslo says that a movie must have some sort of protagonist and antagonist, either human, or not.
