Principles of art Word Bank
Unity- Seeing the whole before the parts. This can be done by proximity, similarity, or continuation.
Pattern- When items repeat. It can be singular or sequenced.
Contrast- The differences between things; strong, sharp, soft, subtle.
Balance- The arrangement of the Elements; symmetrical, asymmetrical, or radial.
Movement- The direction your eye moves through the artwork; starts a focal point.
Emphasis- The focal point, the most important part of the artwork.
Rhythm- The visual beat, regular, irregular, stacatto
The Elements of Art
Line- straight, wavy, zig-zag, dotted, horizontal, vertical, diagonal, parallel, crosshatch, implied, outline, gesture
Color-primary, secondary, tertiary,neutral,warm, cool, tint, shade, complimentary, analogous

Emphasis is used on the CANCELLED
because it is much biger and in the center of the piece making it the focus point.
Contrast is used by the follow your dreams being a different color and it being much lighter in shades
Emphasis is used on "CANCELLED" because of the contrast around it. Also it's the brightest color and it overlaps the other words that are near the center of the JPEG.
The contrast in the piece is shown by the black and wite throughout the piece. the emphisis is on the cancelation of your dreams because of what the world is today
Contrast is used on the man because he is showing tat the goverment cancelled their dreams. emhpasis is used on the bright red cancell coveering the follow your dreams.
Ephasis is the cancelled part, because it is what the artist wants people to look at most. And it is kind of like the center of attention. Contrast is the follow your dreams because it is gray and it is lighter than the rest of the art.
Emphasis in the piece is "CANCELED" because it's brightly colored and in the center. Contrast is how "Follow Your Dreams" is a dark green and "CANCELED" is a bright red and it looks stronger than "Follow Your Dreams."
The artist uses contrast and emphasis by putting “Cancelled” above the other words that are gray in red, a different color than the rest. Since that spot is the only spot that has color it kind of makes you look there first.
The contrast is the follow your dreams because its darker than the cancelled.The cancelled is the emphasis of the piece because it is what you look at first.
