Unity

Hello students,
Unity is what holds an artwork together. Below is another painting by Vincent Van Gogh entitled "Starry Night Over The Rhone". Explain what elements of art provide UNITY to this painting. Please write at least 4 lines with evidence.  This is due May 9th.

This picture unity is the color. It is all shades of blue in almost every aspect of the piece. The texture and lines both hold the piece together. It is these rough textures lines that the whole artwork is made of and is seen throughout the piece.

The moon and the stars show shape because they look like the real moon and stars. Also there is space because the lights of the city are overlapping the water then they overlap eachother.

Vincent Van Gogh mostly uses the colors blue and yellow. He uses different colors of blue. There is a lot of space in the painting, overlapping with the colors.

It is unified because the stars shine down on the lake and that's the first thing I see when I look at it and also it leaves a pattern, plus I notice that the buildings in the distance have the stars shining down on them too making them very noticeable when I first look at it

There is multiple shades of blues throughout the the painting. You can see the texture of the painting the paint is thick and coming off the paper. The contrast if the blue and the bright yellow draws the eye towards the light.

Vincent Van Gogh unifies this painting by using different shades of the color blue and yellow. He also adds texture to his painting by the way he made the water effects.
