This animation called “The Balcony Girl” is an award winning animation because its animation is very smooth and lifelike, its soundtrack and sound effects are very good and fit in with the movie well, and the story is just downright interesting. The engaging part of the story is the quest; to impress the balcony girl. It starts out with his every day workout, the ordinary life. Then, this girl shows up and puts all of that to waste. In his quest to impress her, he decides to lift a weight that he knows he cannot lift. He fails the first two times, but on the third, he dreams of her kissing him and suddenly, he can lift the weight. However, after he notices that she’s blind, the weight is too heavy for him to lift. What I’ve just listed is some of the 12 stages of the hero’s journey. The beginning of the movie is stage one (the ordinary life). Then, the girl convinces him to impress her (stage 4) and he builds up to the passing of his quest (Stage 7) and he passes the quest (stage 8). Once he has accomplished this, he notices the girl is blind, and that sends him back to his ordinary life (stage 12). The hero’s journey is key to an engaging story.

I think this piece won because it told a story and all the animations flowed very swiftly. It also has a very cartoon, but realistic setting and characters that draws the person in. The thing about this story that engages you is that its relatable. This is a realistic thing that happens in everyday life.

I think this won because it showed a story of a guy on his daily routine and he is super tired. Then he sees this really cute girl and he falls in love and then feel like he can do anything such as lift those weights when he normally couldn't even attempt to any other time. What I think was engaging was his attitude shange when he first saw the girl to when he found out she was blind and didnt see the weights he lifted just to show off

I think this is an award winning animation because it is funny and has a good story. It's engaging because it shows us an everyday guy who wants to impress a girl, and goes to great length to do so, to no avail.

I believe this won because it not just very well animated, but has a bit of comedy in it as well. It also teaches people lessons, such as exercise for better health and be strong in case you need to impress a girl. It also teaches to never do something stupid that you could never do before just to impress a girl if you could hurt yourself. It's engaging because it would bring back some memories of what some guys did for a girl. It also makes you laugh and isn't just an animation, but a comedy. It also encourages people that anything is possible and if you try your best, you can do anything.

I think his animation was engaging because It had a lot of smooth movement and it was funny at the end. I think this piece won because it looks as if the artist devoted every last second of hard work into this piece and for the same reasons it had smooth movement and it was funny.
