Art to Change the World
Audio recording software >>
Artists will often create artwork with the hopes of making change or creating a better world. Here is a graffiti work by an artist named Banksy.
Tell me what you think Banksy is saying to the world. Tell me where Banksy has placed the emphasis and how he did it. Finally, describe what type of contrast he used. Homework is due Friday, February 12.

Banksy is telling the world to stop all the wars and violence and come to peace with each other. He uses emphasis by having the peace sign in red and the soldiers in black and white so your eyes go right to the reasoning. The white and the black are contrasting because they are opposite colors.
I think Bansky is trying to say that war isn't just to fight that the soldiers are trying to create peace.
I believe Banksy is saying that there should be peace when it comes to war. AS you can see the man on the right is painting the peace sign. This may be a sign off that certain side surrendering because they want peace. Banksy placed emphasis in the peace sign. The peace sign is where you look first due to the fact that it is red and larger than the other objects in the painting. This artist uses contrast by have the paintrun down from the peace sign, but also as well as the detail in the men in combat. There is very strong detail in both of them and they go together, but also clash against each other very well.
what i think Banksy is trying to say is that there should be no war. i think that the red peace that kinda looks like blood dripping. he used the red againist the white/grey background.
The painting by Bansky is saying that war doesn't bring peace. And we have to stop fighting each other.
I believe that this piece of artwork by Bansky is saying that their should not be war. Only peace. As represented in this painting the only “peace” is the peace sign. And even that is all bloody. Bansky probably also saying that their is no peace in war even though their should be. Notice the painting man’s friend holding the gun. The emphasis in this painting is most definitely not represented in the gray background, or the tiny can. Instead it is the big red, dripping peace sign. After the peace sign catches your attention your eye’s probably started to begin dropping down the painting a little bit below at the soldier leaving all of the red. So maybe the most important peace in this painting is the big red, dripping peace sign, it’s creator, and the creator’s friend. Those are the places in the painting that help support Banski’s claim.
