I believe this short video follows the "Hero's Journey" because the little girl decided to give up something for her father. The little girl traded her shoes so her dad wouldn't have to walk in the snow barefoot. On her way home she saw a doll she wanted, but decided her Dad was more important. Her father was thankful for the shoes and was going to keep them to wear. The Dad remembered the doll as well because of his daughter's drawing. The father took one of the shoes and made it into a doll so his daughter could have it. This short film got an award for best animation most likely because it tells a story of real struggles the people face/faced.
I think that this follows the Heros Journey because the little girl really wanted a doll, but she knew that the man needed shoes. The girl was kind enough to give the man what he needed instead get what she wanted for herself. This film got best film because it has such a good message, but in such short time. It easily gets the point across without even using any words.
I believe that this video follows the "Hero's Journey" because it tells a tale about how a little girl faced a struggle. She decide to help her father, she gives up her own shows, and decides that her own wishes aren't more important than helping her father, so she buys him shoes. This kind of story is compelling to us because less and less children are caring enough to show appreciation to others. This is also compelling because the father remembers how much she wanted the doll, but that he was not able to buy it. So he decides to turn one of his shoes into a doll. Because of this compelling story line and abstract animation, this short video one an award that it definately deserved.
This animation followed the "Hero's Journey" because it was about giving something up to help someone else. Also the father turned her gift so she could have what she wanted as well. This short film probably got an award for best animation because it is put together very well and because it shows that people are willing to sacrifice so others can have something they want/need.

This animation followed the "Hero's Journey", because it shows a story about people knowing truly what struggling is but still loving each other enough to take less than what they already have to give the other more. I feel I won that award because it shows something most people would have taken for granted being one of the best presents.

I believe that the story tells a tale of a little girl loving her father and her father returning the favor to her.
